I knew the family as well as I have known anyone. I used to stay overnight there a lot as a kid, and I can still remember Dan making us laugh, and going out and bringing back donuts for us. As a scared freshman in high school, Dan was a big help to me. He was the senior class president, and really made my first year bearable. I was shocked when I heard about how bad he was, and saddened by the loss. Dan was one of those people nobody ever spoke badly of, everyone liked him. I have many memories of him growing up, and I do treasure them. I hope and pray for his family, that they will get through this difficult time.
